Gatsby Scholarship & Sponsored Learning Program

Education Empowerment

UN SDG Alignment: SDG 4 • SDG 5 • SDG 10 • SDG 17

The Gatsby Scholarship & Sponsored Learning Program expands access to education, leadership development, and career pathways for students from historically marginalized communities by reducing financial barriers and supporting both academic and experiential learning opportunities.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the program advances Quality Education (SDG 4), promotes Gender Equality (SDG 5), and works to Reduce Inequalities (SDG 10) by investing in students with demonstrated potential, leadership capacity, and a commitment to community impact.

Program Focus

The program prioritizes support for:

  • Students pursuing education and career pathways in healthcare, STEM, and other high-impact fields

  • First-generation and underrepresented students

  • Local DMV-based students, with a growing commitment to national and international reach

Awards are granted based on merit, financial need, leadership potential, and alignment with the Gatsby Showcase Foundation’s mission.

What the Program Supports

Scholarship and sponsored learning awards may be applied toward:

  • Tuition and academic fees

  • Required educational materials

  • Program-related and experiential learning expenses

  • Sponsored access to leadership, mentorship, and professional development forums

This flexible structure allows the Foundation to support both traditional academic pathways and high-impact learning experiences, including STEM leadership forums, mentorship convenings, and career exposure programs that accelerate student growth and opportunity.

Beyond Financial Support

The Gatsby Scholarship & Sponsored Learning Program is designed to be holistic. In addition to financial assistance, scholars may benefit from:

  • Mentorship and guidance from professionals and community leaders

  • Leadership development opportunities

  • Exposure to professional networks, role models, and career pathways

This integrated approach strengthens long-term outcomes and reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by connecting students to broader ecosystems of opportunity.

Measuring Impact

Program outcomes are evaluated through:

  • Number and type of scholarships and sponsored learning awards

  • Academic persistence, progression, and completion

  • Participation in mentorship, leadership, and experiential opportunities

  • Scholar milestones, outcomes, and impact stories

These measures ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Looking Ahead

As funding and partnerships grow, the program is designed to:

  • Expand the number and diversity of scholarship recipients

  • Increase STEM, healthcare, and leadership-focused sponsored learning opportunities

  • Introduce international scholarship and exchange pathways

  • Explore long-term sustainability and endowment models

All growth will be guided by measurable impact, accountability, and mission alignment.
