The Gatsby Showcase Foundation Partners with Sitar Arts Center to Empower DC Youth Through the Arts

2025 captured moment from Sitar Arts Center, where young artists like Mayera B. are supported through creative expression. The Gatsby Showcase Foundation is proud to partner with Sitar in expanding access to arts education for DC youth.
This year, we proudly extended that commitment by sponsoring Sitar Arts Center, a remarkable organization dedicated to supporting underprivileged youth in Washington, DC. Through our donation of more than $8,000 in sponsorships, we joined Sitar in advancing their mission of providing affordable, high-quality arts education and workforce development in the visual, digital, and performing arts.
Sitar Arts Center engages youth from early childhood to young adulthood in creating a community of learning and belonging that removes financial and cultural barriers to the arts. Each semester, an inspiring 80% of students come from DC households earning 60% or less of the area median income. Despite these challenges, these young people have access to world-class facilities, dedicated mentors, and an environment that nurtures both creativity and possibility. Programs run year-round, ensuring that students not only develop their artistic talents but also build confidence, discipline, and skills that prepare them for future careers.
