On December 5th, 2024, the Gatsby Showcase Foundation took another important step in its ongoing commitment to supporting education and empowering future leaders. Co-founder Laura Fote had the honor of serving as a mentor at the Washington DC Young Enterprising Women Forum, held at the Bell’s Multicultural Institute. This inspiring event brought together a diverse group of students eager to learn, grow, and shape their futures.
The students were thrilled to have the opportunity to be mentored by Laura Fote, whose entrepreneurial success and dedication to empowering marginalized communities made a lasting impact. Through her guidance, Laura shared invaluable insights into entrepreneurship, leadership, and the power of perseverance. Her passion for helping others was felt throughout the forum, inspiring students to pursue their dreams and break down barriers.
The event marked another chapter in the Gatsby Showcase Foundation’s dedication to empowering young people through education and mentorship. The foundation remains steadfast in its mission to create lasting, positive change for historically marginalized groups, and this event was a perfect example of how collective action can inspire and create opportunities for a brighter future.
The Gatsby Showcase Foundation Sponsors Scholarships for 44 Students at St. Joseph’s College Sasse
The Gatsby Showcase Foundation, led by founders Dr. Bertrand Fote and Lady Laura Fote, is proud to announce its sponsorship of scholarships for 44 students at St. Joseph’s College (SJC) Sasse, located in Cameroon, West Africa, during this year’s SOBA America Day. This initiative is a testament to the foundation’s commitment to empowering historically marginalized groups through education, business development tools, and a supportive network.
The scholarship awards ceremony, held on October 9, 2024, recognized students who have demonstrated academic excellence, good moral character, and financial need. This generous support will provide much-needed resources to students, enabling them to pursue their educational goals and make a significant impact in their communities.
SOBA America Day is an annual celebration organized by the SOBA America Alumni Association, honoring the students and staff of SJC Sasse. The event emphasizes the core values of SOBA America, featuring scholarship awards, mentorship sessions, and special meals for the students. This day is an opportunity for alumni to give back to the school that has shaped their lives and foster the next generation of leaders.
“The Gatsby Showcase Foundation is thrilled to support the young men of SJC Sasse by sponsoring these scholarships. It’s an opportunity to give back to a school that has produced great leaders and to foster hope and inspiration in the next generation,” said Dr. Bertrand Fote, President of SOBA America and co-founder of The Gatsby Showcase Foundation.
Laura Fote, co-founder of The Gatsby Showcase Foundation, added, “Education is one of the most powerful tools for change. By providing scholarships to these deserving students, we hope to empower them to pursue their dreams and make a lasting impact in their communities. This is part of our broader mission to uplift historically marginalized groups and provide them with the opportunities they need to succeed.”
The Gatsby Showcase Foundation’s focus on education aligns perfectly with the values of SOBA America. By investing in the future of these students, the foundation aims to create lasting change and promote self-sufficiency and growth within communities.
